My Physical Body

There are people with FASD who have physical differences or disabilities that we can see. The kinds of physical disabilities are things like differences in facial appearance, being smaller in size or being shorter. Others might have medical issues like heart problems, kidney problems, weaker bones or problems with hearing or vision.

It is important to look after your physical health, especially if that is part of your disability. If you need help with the health of your body, ask a parent, family member, trusted friend or mentor.

Even though some people have physical signs of a disability, most people with FASD do not. For most people with FASD, their disability is hidden. This is called an invisible disability.
