Learn about FASD

Parents who are involved with the FASD Support Network of Saskatchewan often speak of the difference it made in their lives when they began to learn about FASD. When parents learn about FASD, they feel more prepared to guide and nurture their children living with this disability.

As you learn about FASD you gain the language and understanding to be able to explain your child’s cognitive, behavioural, physical or sensory disabilities. You may find yourself explaining FASD to other family members, teachers, coaches, employers or community members. You can also be a big help to your child as she or he learns about FASD. Along the way you will learn important skills needed to advocate for the needs of you and your child. Learning about FASD takes time and is best thought of as an ongoing task. The FASD Support Network of Saskatchewan is here to help as you carry on learning about FASD.
